SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Amerie Akuffo - Gibbs High School

Amerie Akuffo set her sights on a goal in ninth grade and never let up. Now, as the valedictorian of Gibbs High School, she’s not only graduating at the top of her class but also making history as the school’s first BETA program valedictorian and the first Black female valedictorian since integration.

DRILL TEAM COMMANDER:

This team is a precision drill team that competes state-wide and performs in many events and activities throughout the year. Our goal is to strengthen our team in the off season and prepare for next year’s season. We practice every Tuesday & Thursday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Practice starts up in November.
